California - there's nothing better then those warm days on the beach, or to go looking for your favorite movie star on Rodeo Drive in Hollywood.
Anaheim is a whole new city which is home to Disneyland where many high school bands and choral groups perform daily. Los Angeles is the center of activity from Universal Studios, where your group can perform, to the Crystal Cathedral. Nothing beats it. Don't miss Knott's Berry Farm Theme Park filled with 150 acres of rides, live shows and other attractions. Another great place for a performance and more than just a theme park; Knott's Berry Farm is filled with the history, traditions and excitement of the Old West. Watch it come alive. Spend an afternoon at Santa Monica Beach & Pier. Of course, while touring Hollywood or Beverly Hills take in the musical nostalgia of the Hard Rock Cafe. Pasadena, home of the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl festivities, is a favorite destination among many Marching Bands. San Diego another of California's hot spots, hosts the famous Holiday Bowl Parade where musicians come to perform and root for their favorite team. Visit Balboa Park, which holds a 1,158 acre recreation and cultural center. See the 200 foot California Tower, containing a 100 bell carillon that chimes every 15 minutes. Also visit the Naval Station and tour an aircraft carrier. And of course there is the world famous San Diego Zoo, as well as, Sea World. San Franciso is another wonderful place. With the majestic Golden Gate Bridge and nature's famous Redwoods of Muir Woods. Come visit the Cannery, formerly a Del Monte factory now transformed into THE place for those specialty gift purchases. There are many theaters and symphony halls, to fill any palette. Check out the famous San Fransico Bay and Alcatraz Island. These are must see items on your itinerary. |
